Reimagining the Office Through Personalization

In a recent feature, the Jacksonville Business Journal highlighted how Office Images is helping reshape what modern workplaces look and feel like. As more employees return to the office for most of their workday, Market President Madelen Salter notes that organizations are prioritizing more personalized, choice-driven environments. The shift wasn’t caused by the pandemic, she explains, but was accelerated by creating “forced momentum” toward workspaces that reflect how people function.

Personalization now extends far beyond desk setups. Adjustable lighting, softer materials, varied seating, standing desks, sensory elements, and flexible neighborhoods all support a wider range of workstyles, including neurodiverse needs. Salter points out that students have already normalized studying in collaborative rooms and switching environments for different tasks—and today’s workplaces are evolving in the same direction.

With tighter project timelines driven by lease expirations and renewed interest in in-person work, Office Images is working proactively to anticipate obstacles and guide clients through rethinking their space. Salter also sees momentum returning to Jacksonville’s urban core, with more businesses exploring how a vibrant downtown can shape the future office experience.
