Designer

Office Images’ designers are an integral part of the holistic customer experience, from initial consulting through design development, furniture installation, and completion. Designers work closely with OI sales team members to assess customer needs and recommend solutions that will help them achieve their business goals. Designers play a direct role in both securing new project opportunities and ensuring successful project execution while delivering memorable customer experiences.

Office Images’ designers are an integral part of the holistic customer experience, from initial consulting through design development, furniture installation, and completion. Designers work closely with OI sales team members to assess customer needs and recommend solutions that will help them achieve their business goals. Designers play a direct role in both securing new project opportunities and ensuring successful project execution while delivering memorable customer experiences.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Consult with client and project team members to identify project parameters.
  • Conduct site analysis and field verification including furniture inventory.
  • Participate in key project meetings from project conception to completion.
  • Make product and finish selections relative to the specific needs of the organization within budgetary considerations.
  • Develop furniture plans including technology, electrical and communication data for use with project team members including the client, architects, and designers, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Follow all local, state and national building codes as they relate to the workplace space plan, furniture and finishes to ensure proper ergonomics and workplace safety.
  • Develop detailed furniture plans, renderings, and finish schedules to ensure clear communication of all proposed furniture layouts, products, and finishes.
  • Develop detailed specifications for furniture, finishes, and accessories. Double check all specifications for accuracy.
  • Review documentation of all client approved work for design, accuracy, and completeness prior to order entry.
  • Create detailed installation documents for furniture and finishes for both internal and external use.
  • Attend and participate in workplace, product, and design software seminars and training sessions to help facilitate professional growth.
  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues to achieve goals related to project quality and process while maintaining client expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Interior Design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required CET Designer experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of space planning and furniture layouts
  • Systems specification skills and contract furniture experience is highly preferred
  • Experience with Project Matrix/Project Spec or other similar specification tool is desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is beneficial
  • Ability to work in a team environment while also being self-motivated with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently
  • Familiar with office environment issues and trends
